You can tour the 55,000-acre Durham Bison Ranch, and see a herd that totals around 2,500 pure-bred American Bison. Get a true feel for the wild west on this incredible open land tour of an active Buffalo ranch!

In addition to the tours that will leave from Cam-Plex, additional tours can be arranged through the Gillette Visitor Center.

Hours of Operation:

• Monday and Tuesday at 10:00am or 2:00pm
• Wednesday-Friday at 9:00am

Gillette is known as the Energy Capital of the Nation because Campbell County is primarily grasslands over extensive sub-bituminous coal deposits, some of which were so close to the surface that early settlers could dig their own coal.

Take a coal mine tour to learn how energy produced in Gillette trickles across the country, maybe even into your own hometown. You’ll see spectacular machines work and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of the energy industry in Wyoming’s economy. What is perhaps most impressive and surprising to visitors is the extensive reclamation processes that are taken to restore the land back to Wyoming purity.
